CINEMATEK has been selected as one of twelve finalists in the Heritage Tombola, a project organised by the National Lottery, Prométhéa, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage and museumPASSmusées. Their project, “10 Decades of Belgian Cinema,” aims to digitally restore twelve films spanning a century of Belgian film history – from the 1910s to the 2010s, crossing languages, genres and artistic movements.
Films, Talks and Events at Filmmuseum Eye in Amsterdam
From 10 to 24 May, Filmmuseum Eye in Amsterdam is hosting a series of talks, films and events entitled ‘Songs and Scenes from Palestine’, a programme dedicated to the history and cultural identity of the Palestinian people through their own lens, in collaboration with the Palestine Film Institute.

From Wednesday 27 March to Sunday 31 March, the twenty-third Courtisane Festival will take place in Ghent, Belgium. During the festival, Courtisane, a platform for film and audiovisual arts, will explore the relationships between image and world, aesthetics and politics, experimentation and engagement. Pieter-Paul Mortier, artistic director of the festival, guides us through this year’s programme.

From 18 to 31 March, the Cinémathèque française in Paris is hosting a complete retrospective of French filmmaker Nicolas Philibert. The retrospective coincides with the release of Philibert’s new film Averroès & Rosa Parks (2024) in French theatres.
