Brussels, Its People, and Their Neighbourhoods

From 23 to 31 January, Beursschouwburg hosts a free programme devoted to Brussels as lived, worked, and imagined, bringing together short and feature films by Brussels-based filmmakers. Divided into different screening blocks and shown in a loop, the programme traces the city through everyday gestures and long-term transformations: gentrification and displacement, construction sites and invisible labour, neighbourhood life, migration, and urban dreaming. Highlights include works by Sarah Vanagt (Boulevard d’Ypres / Ieperlaan), Bas Devos (Here), Ruben Desiere (Kosmos), Kita Bauchet (Bains Publics), Ben De Raes (Waiting Working Hours, Kapital Europe), Thierry De Mey (Floréal), Ingel Vaikla (Papagalo, what’s the Time?), Mieriën Coppens (Carry On), Elie Maissin (La maison, Et leurs lettres), and Samy Szlingerbaum (Bruxelles-Transit).
