On June 8, French writer, philosopher, art critic, and cinema theorist Jean-Louis Schefer passed away at the age of 83.

After three years of temporary occupation, the Brussels-based community cinema Kinograph will close its doors at the end of June. To say farewell, they invite you to a weekend of screenings, encounters, talks and parties.

CINEA’s annual Zomerfilmcollege (Summer Film School) will take place from 10 to 16 July at De Cinema in Antwerp. In more than fifteen talks (all in English) and twenty screenings of mostly rare archival 35mm prints, this year's edition will focus on 1970s German Romantic cinema and the 1930s oeuvre of John Ford. 

Starting in the last week of May, the Goethe-Institute and Cinematek, in collaboration with Sabzian, host an exhibition and retrospective of German filmmaker and - historian Günter Peter Straschek (1942-2009).
