RITCS Winter School 2026
In (Re)search of Pier Paolo Pasolini
Every year, the Belgian film school RITCS School of Arts organises a Winter School for its students. The 2026 edition will take place from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 January 2026, bringing together students from different disciplines for four days of transdisciplinary, research-based workshops centred on Italian filmmaker and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini. Alongside the student workshops, RITCS also invites people from outside the school to join a series of public sessions. These include screenings and talks with Italian filmmaker Michelangelo Frammartino, who will also present a carte blanche and a retrospective of his work at CINEMATEK. The Winter School is curated by Eva Zingaro-Meyer, Simon Hardouin, and Wouter Hessels (RITCS).
Public moments include a screening of Frammartino’s Le quattro volte (2010) on 12 January, followed by a conversation between Frammartino and Wouter Hessels. Also on 12 January, Pasolini’s Comizi d’amore (1964) will be screened at CINEMA RITCS. On Wednesday, 14 January, CINEMA RITCS hosts an interactive lecture on Pasolini, “We Cannot All Die in Bed,” with film clips by Piet Arfeuille. On Thursday, 15 January, philosopher Marc De Kesel delivers a lecture at CINEMA RITCS, followed by a screening of Pasolini’s Edipo re (1967). Finally, on Tuesday, 19 January, CINEMA RITCS screens short films by Cecilia Mangini, including Ignoti alla città, Stendali, Essere donne, and La canta delle marane, introduced online by Eva Zingaro-Meyer.
